         None of us have missed the temptation to end all the 
problems by ending our lives.  Most of us have resisted the 
temptation, but for some of us the allure is always there.
         I'm reminded of the note that H. Beam Piper left, after 
draping plastic on the wall behind him and blowing out his brain: 
"Sorry for leaving a mess, but if I could have cleaned up the mess I 
wouldn't have had to do this."
         May the Creator have mercy on his soul.
