[MR] pertaining to unevent

if i remember correctly (and please correct me if i am wrong), but unevent is not an event that needs to be attended by the populace at large.  the people who must go are those in power, such as the kingdom seneshal, her (or his) deputies, the king and/or queen, etc.  the people of atlantia are welcome to attend, but it is a meeting to discuss the rules and laws, etc.  i KNOW that some of the things being discussed and what not at unevent have not been put into the MR, such as the changes coming to the rules concerning the children of atlantia.  i, hanim kisaiya, nor any other officer in that area has mentioned the ideas we have, as of this date.

as for the date, i think it is wonderful, for the simple fact that the winter season is not the busiest season in the SCA.  sure, we have events, but they are not highly attended like the spring/summer/fall events are.  even in the south, it's just too cold.  as for the location, it is a wonderful location.  i, myself, have lived in greensboro/hinescroft for years before moving to richmond, va.  once a month i would do a round trip drive for a 30 minute orthodontist appointment.  yeah,t he drive sucks, but it is doable as a day trip.  same amount of gas is used, but you don't have to pay for the hotel.  it's about three hours from the richmond, va area to greensboro.  i am unsure of where you live specifically, but it is as central as it can get, and day trip-able.
