Most sunglasses also serve as protection of the eyes from harmful UV rays.
I'll even go so far as to suggest that sunglasses help slow the effects of
aging by reducing the need to squint your eyes in bright light - cutting
back on wrinkle formation.

With the exception of the incidents where medical necessity was the need, a
cell phone is not period, is otherwise not a necessity, and does not have
other health and safety benefits - like wrinkle reduction.

;-)

In all honesty and opinion, I don't understand the trouble with making an
effort to hide modern items, take my phone calls when necessary away from
the activity, and to behave in a manner which contributes to the atmosphere
of courtesy, chivalry, and honor.  When all this is said and done, really,
how hard is it for us to pull ourselves back together and behave like a good
bunch of Atlantians again?
