It's my pleasure to announce that there will be a scroll competition at
Sapphire Joust (just 2 weeks away!), so it's time to break out the quills
and brushes.
Details:
1) Entries must be kingdom-level scroll blanks.
2) Brief documentation is strongly encouraged
3) There are two categories: (1) illumination and (2) calligraphy.
That's it! No point system, no bonuses for multiple entries (although
naturally, the more scrolls you enter, the better your chance of winning . .
.) This means that you may enter blanks with illumination only; no
calligraphy is necessary. Scrolls may also be created by teams of one
illuminator and one calligrapher; please note who did what in your (brief)
documentation. Each scroll will be judged in both categories, but the scores
will not be combined. This means a scroll with gorgeous illumination but no
calligraphy will score high in the illumination category but receive no
score in the calligraphy category--it has just as much chance of winning the
illumination category as does a scroll with both illumination and
calligraphy.
All scrolls become property of the kingdom at the conclusion of the
competition.
