[MR] Gene's update for 5-8-07...

So we made it home.  Gene had dialysis this morning and we got to come home after that.  We had a few challenges when we got home.  We have two steps up to our door and he had not gone up stairs before now.  But we used the walker to steady him and we got in just fine.  But the first thing he needed to do is use the bathroom and I had not put the chair with the rail over the toilet yet and I had to get it out of the car and ran it to the bathroom.  Made it just in time.  The first thing he did was pet the cats.  He was so glad to see them.  Then he went straight to bed and sighed.  He was so happy to be in his bed.  The bed at the hospital was the worst.  

Now I have the challenge to sort out all of the medicines and times to give them.  I'm going to make a spreadsheet to keep track of them.  Most of them are once a day that'll make it easier.

We are just going to enjoy the day today and tomorrow we will go to dialysis.  He has therapy on Thursday.  

We still have a long ways to go and will have to work out how I'll work and Gene will get to all of his appointments.  We'll have to see how it will work out in the next week.  I'll keep you updated on his progress.
