Gene is getting into the routine of dialysis and therapy.  He really likes the people at the rehab center.  He's even doing some exercise at home.   His mother is helping out by picking him up from his appointments so that I can get in some work time.  He seems to be getting a little more steady on his feet and can get in and out of the house to the car easier.  He still gets tired easily, but can go out for short times.  We've been to the library and out to dinner a couple of times.  Saturday we are going to an event for a couple of hours for the first time.  This should be a learning experience to see how he does.

I'm still trying to be creative with the limited foods that are allowed for his diet.  If anyone out there knows of a good dialysis cookbook I would love to get a copy. 

If you would like to come visit it's best to call ahead.  We have a very full schedule.  Most days we are home after 5:00.  If you have some free time and would like to help out with picking up or dropping Gene off to his appointments just let me know.
