[MR] War Practice, Elkin, 5/20, Final Notice

WAR Practice to be held in Elkin, NC, Sunday, May 20,
2007, (that's the Sunday the week before Sapphire, for those of you
keeping score at home) at Elchenburg Castle in Booneville, NC,
recently the site of War of the Wings I.

This practice will take place regardless of weather conditions, as an
alternate site just a few miles away has sufficient indoor space to
permit such. (it's also relatively equidistant between Asheville NC,
Blacksburg VA, Raleigh NC, Greenville SC, and Columbia SC.)

Since Atlantia is so rarely able to bring its armies together in
sufficient numbers to allow a war practice this will be a WAR
practice and not simply a large singles combat practice. (While we're
sure there will be singles practice, it is not intended to be the
main focus of the day.) Featured battles will include the woods, weather
permitting. Featured training will include resisting a charge, spear 
training,
small unit training, etc.

Start time:

~11AM - Review last session videos, slow work, questions,
walkthroughs, etc.
1 PM: Fighting Begins

Bathrooms on site. No fee is being charged. Fencers are
encouraged. Combat archers are encouraged. Non-fighters are
encouraged. …Heck with it; everybody's encouraged.

Take your best route to I-77 exit 82.
Take the NC-67 exit 82 to Elkin/Jonesville/ Boonville 0.2 mi
Turn west on NC-67 1.8 mi
Turn LEFT on ELM STREET (Gwyn St. is closed, so you don't have a
choice.)
GO TO THE STOP LIGHT then TURN RIGHT ONTO BRIDGE ST.
TAKE THE SECOND RIGHT ONTO STANDARD ST.
END AT 331 STANDARD ST.
