I may be wrong, and I'm sure I'll corrected if I am, but copyright for blogs
belong to the author or the company providing the space, depending on the
user's agreement. And the format of the online journals with "Locked entry"
capacity creates a right to privacy that should be at least on par with
sending a letter via the internet, or the post office, to chosen readers.
Any reader who then takes that trust and abuses it by sharing the contents
with others without the consent of the writer is committing a serious breach
of courtesy, if not one of legal ramifications.
Yes, we're all so used to people rudely gossiping that we have learned to
take it for granted that it will happen and try to protect ourselves from
it. But that does not mean that we must also grant approval and
justification for the lack of courtesy and honour in the person who spreads
information they have no right to.
To condone that is to do a dis-service to everyone.
