Greetings unto the populace of Atlantia and our Cavalry friends of the
East Kingdom from the Earl Marshal of the Horse of Atlantia;
Here is information for those wishing to participate in Cavalry
activities at MidSummer's Twilight Tourney in the Canton of
Bucston-on-Eno on June 8-10.

Below is everything you need to know to bring a horse, rent a horse or
authorize as an Atlantian Rider at this event:
A Midsummer Twilight Tourney Cavalry Information
June 8-10, 2007
Canton of Buckston-on-Eno
Come join Buckston-on-Eno for a tribute to Don Quixote. There will be
activities and contests sure to please everyone. However, be warned
the feast will be at mid-day. Mounted activities will happen in the
cooler morning and afternoon hours with a long lunch break for the
Cavalry's destriers.
The Last Tournament of the Black Lance:
Cavalry riders will compete during the mounted activities to collect
points. The rider with the most points at the end of the mounted
activities will receive the Black Lance, in the spirit of Don Quixote
and tilting at windmills.
Schedule of Activities:
Friday Site opens at 5 pm. Set up of field. Pot luck supper
and general hanging out.
Field open for practice after set up if Cavalry
Marshals aren't too tired.
Saturday Field opens at 8 am for warm up. Mounted competitions
between 9 and 10:30
am to include Quintain, Heads, Reeds, Double Reeds and Pigs.
Authorizations run during morning competitions.
Liability class offered at 11 am.
Field closed until 4 pm. Afternoon competitions
include Mounted Combat and
Mounted Archery. Field closes after completion of
competitions.
Sunday Pack up equipment, clean up and leave site by 12 noon.
Paperwork: Current negative Coggins and Health Certificates for out
of state horses required. Horse paperwork will be checked before
horses may be unloaded. Authorization cards will be checked with horse
paperwork. Liability waivers will be signed at the same time.
Minor riders 12 and older may ride, but specific paperwork must
be completed before arrival on site. Please contact Lady Brandwyn

Equipment: Tack and equipment will be inspected before rider
competes. All riders are required to wear close toed shoes or boots.
Minor riders must wear ASTM approved helmet when mounted.
Personal gaming equipment will not be provided without prior
arrangement with the Cavalry Marshal in Charge. Loaner equipment is
very limited.
Stuff to bring: Hose to run from feast hall to horse area for water,
all feed, buckets and horse equipment necessary for horses, chairs,
equipment to high line horses, equipment to remove manure, cool horse
outfits so that we look good in pictures, water to have by field, good
food to share during Friday's evening pot luck. Wish list: Day shade
for MOL, bows, arrows, banners on poles, flagging and other stuff to
decorate the field.
Rental Horses: Horses and tack may be rented for Saturday for
$80.00 per horse, tack included. The rental of horses may be split
among three people (beginner), or two people (intermediate, advanced,
Banarat). Cavalry Marshal can not guarantee to arrange for the
splitting of a horse rental. Monies for rental horses MUST be received
by Lady Arielle of Beinn Dhubh by June 7th, 2007 in the form of a
Money Order ONLY. See address below.

Please Note: For the wellbeing of the horses, the wrangler requests
that the weight limit for the rental horses is aproximately 260
pounds.

Site: Farm Ventures (Person County Group Homes) 363 Jerry Dixon Road,
Leasburg, NC 27291. Site opens at 5pm on the 8th and closes at 12-noon
on the 10th.
Directions:
>From Washington/Richmond: From I-85 South take exit 12 to US 58 West
at South Hill, VA. Continue on US 58 for 3 miles past Clarksville, VA
to VA/NC 49 South. Take Rt. 49 to Roxboro, NC and follow from * below.
>From Raleigh/Durham: Take I-85/US 70 to US 501 North (exit 176).
Follow US 501 to Roxboro, NC and follow directions from * below.
* From Roxboro, NC take US 158 West approximately 8 miles to Ralph
Winstead Rd. Turn right and go 1.2 miles to Jerry Dixon Road. Turn
left and go to the end. Follow SCA signs.
>From Charlottesville/Lynchburg: Take US 29 South to Danville, VA. Exit
US 29 onto VA/NC 86 South. Take Rt. 86 to Yanceyville, NC and follow
directions from # below.
>From Charlotte/Greensboro: Take Us 29 North from Greensboro to
Reidsville, NC. Exit US 29 onto US 158 East. Follow US 158 to
Yanceyville, NC and follow the directions
from # below.
# From Yanceyville take/continue on US 158 East approximately 8.5
miles to Ralph Winstead Road. Turn left and go 1.2 miles to Jerry
Dixon Road. Turn left and go to the end. Follow the SCA signs.
