[MR] Gene's update 5-5-07...

I had to go to Family Training so that I will be prepared when Gene comes home.  They teach you about wheel chair stuff, bathroom stuff like putting a chair in the tub and how to get in and out of the tub safely, How to get in and out of a car.  Gene is still not steady enough to do a lot on his own.  So knowing all this will make sure he doesn't end up on the floor.

Gene is having lots of trouble with his shoulder.  He has bursitis.  It keeps him up at night along with his restless leg cyndrom. If we could get these issues resolved that would be great.  The doctors are working with him on this.

We also had the diabetic nurse come by and talked to us about Gene's meds and wanted to make sure he knew how to give himself shots.  She also gave us a new blood meter.  

Also they are now saying it will be Tuesday before he comes home due to the timing of the dialysis and the scheduling of the out patient dialysis.

As soon as he's home I'll let you all know.  He still loves to here from all of you guys so email him if you can. eogan at nc.rr.com If you went to Crown let him know how it went.
