the correct term is knight's marshal (regardless of the station of the
marshal) and more than one earl marshal is earls marshal (not earl

The correct title for the Marshallate officer of any group lower than a
Kingdom is Knight Marshal.
 
When Atlantia was a Principality, she had a Knight Marshal.  (I maintained
that it should have been Viscount Marshal, but nobody bought that idea.)
