Greetings Atlantia! Now that winter is nearly behind us, it is time to turn
our efforts to preparing for Coronation. A veritable bevy of A&S activities
have been planned to honor our new Monarchs. A list is provided below and
will also be on the website at http://coronation.atlantia.sca.org/ . If you
have any questions about any of the A&S activities taking place, please feel

Competitions:
- Best Roman or Byzantine clothing or accessory
- Best use of a Medusa or Gorgon
- In honor of His Majesty, the cooks of the Kingdom are challenged to
create dishes from Roman or Byzantine culture
Tempore Atlantia: Time period 1000-1250

- Best of Any Item Associated with The Crossbow during the Highlighted
Time Period; this includes, but is not limited to, crossbows themselves,
quivers, illumination, bolts and clothing. Documentation is required.

Weaving
Herveus D'Ormonde3/1 broken twill provides interesting design
possibilities. Drafting patterns for weaving figures in 3/1 broken
twill, taking into account the idea of minimizing disruptions to the basic
turning pattern of the cards – applied laziness. The class will begin
with lecture on the principals, followed by hands-on pattern drafting.
Two hours. Tablet weaving experience useful, but not strictly
required.

An overview of the topic dealing with practical reproduction.
- Imperial Roman Clothing
Iohanna filia Iacobi
Class covers Imperial Roman clothing and suggested construction
methods.
- Planning a Feast Around a Basic Field Kitchen
Briana Morgan of the Valley
Many sites these days prevent the use of their kitchen by outside
parties. Learn how to serve up a great feast using only equipment you
can transport.
