[MR] Tokens

I'm chiming in to this only with my perspective and what I've chosen
to do in this regard.

I am a new artisan in the SCA (sorta, I was recently inducted into my
Barony's A&S Order...wow!), and have spent the majority of my personal
time researching all there is to know about gemstones. Therefore, my
displays and competition entries are focused on this subject.

I LOVE getting tokens (with cards*) and commentary. I would wish that
I followed up on contacting more gentles who are either interested in
learning about my work, or who might have more to offer.

The tokens I do have, I am currently adding them to a strand of other
tokens and event tokens. While my memory may be fuzzy as to where
they all come from, at least I can look at them and go, "This is why I
play, SOMEONE enjoys seeing what I'm up to" which is a nice, warm
feeling.

What I do on my tokens that I have just recently started giving out?
I finally settled on a small sculpey mold of a sitting cat. In blue
sparkle clay (but may just use blue in future). I make them into
beads, and 'string' them on wire, with blue and white glass beads. I
have left 3x5 cards with a note, "Thank you for your curiousity in
this art" or something similar (this was back at KASF) and left my
name and email.

While it wasn't possible at the time to connect the bead token with
the card, I will be working on this for future tokens. I didn't have
any for Wastelands, but I should have some for SSBB, WOW2 and whatever
other events I attend during the rest of the year.

Honestly, at KASF when I left tokens, I left them with folks who's art
was truly fascinating, and usually, it was with a display of something
that I am interested in learning more about. I know I left one to the
young lady who entered the Persona Triathalon for Children (who was
then subsequently given an Award of the Silver Nautilis that day). I
would also leave tokens with folks who are exploring the jewelry arts
to let them know that we can possibly help one another down the line.

Just my farthing on the matter,
