[MR] Below the Salt Menu for Challenge of the Heart--(Dun Carraig, June 22-24)

Greetings to the Merry Rose from Adriana Michaels (posting on behalf of my
husband Matthew of Summerdale, the "Below the Salt" cook for Dun Carraig's
Challenge of the Heart)

In addition to the fabulous repast that will be prepared by Lord Khadir,
there will also be a "Below the Salt" meal, a simple, but delicious one
course dinner served buffet style, prepared by Lord Matthew of Summerdale.
This meal is designed for those who are daytripping and wish to eat quickly
and hurry home, gentles for whom the cost of feast is problematic, those
with picky eaters in the family, or those who just "don't do feast."

The menu is as follows:

Chicken and beef stew
Salad
Bread, butter, and cheese
Fruit and nuts
Fruit patties (chopped apples, walnuts, raisins, figs and spices, wrapped in
dough, fried, and dusted with sugar)

As a "test subject" for both the stew recipe and the fruit patties, I can
attest to the fact that both are excellent (though I'm admittedly just a
*little* biased).

I look forward to seeing everyone at Challenge.  I encourage those attending
to pre-register, both so that you can secure a seat for yourself at the
feast of your choice, and because the first ten teams to register will
receive hand-painted banners (armored fighters) or pennants (rapier
fighers).
