Greetings!

The Barony of Highland Foorde looks forward to seeing many of you at our Highland River Melees this coming weekend - June 8-10!  

Some updates of interest:

There have been rumors that combat scenarios will require participants to be clothed in Crusader or Sarcen costume.  This IS NOT TRUE!  The theme of our event includes a focus on those events and cultures but all are welcome to come and participate in all aspects of the event, meeting only Society and Kingdom stardards for dress and martial sports.

The schedule for some of the major activities is as follows:
Site opens: June 8 - 4 p.m.
June 9 - All vehicles must be offloaded and off-site by 10 a.m.
June 10 - 12 p.m. site closes
 

Armored Combat:

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.                       Authorizations, inspections, warm-up

12:00 p.m.                                         Opening tournament

12:15 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.                         Melee tournaments of various styles and                                                                                    types

4:00 p.m. (or after melees end)             Tournament to benefit the Susan G. Komen                                                                               foundation

Archery:

10:00 a.m.                                          Range open

1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.                           Tournament

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.                           Range open for public

 

Thrown Weapons:

10:00 a.m.                                          Range open

1:00 p.m – 2:00 p.m.                            Tournament

2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.                           Range open




Fencing:

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.                       Authorizations, inspections, warm-up

Thumiyya – Andalusian Chicken with Garlic, Lavender and Spices

Zaitun Mubakhkhar - Smoked Olives

A Muzawwara – Andalusian Lentil and Vegetable stew
