Last time I looked the written rules only said "attempt" not "reasonable
attempt."

Now, a reasonable attempt will make her feel a bit more comfortable, but it
doesn't matter how hard she tries as far as the written rule, but that she
does TRY.

It's her first event, we'll cut her some slack.  Everyone starts somewhere.

People have already suggested some really great links, but speaking as a
castellan... if she's a newcomer, make sure she understands that the
only "requirement" is a "reasonable attempt at medieval clothing."
