Bit late on the reply to this, but:

Grinding wood chips to pieces 1" or less in diameter kills any emerald ash borer present in the wood, in any stage of development.  Chipping is, in fact, the best way to kill the wee beasties.

FWIW, EAB is not the only nasty out there.  It's a good idea generally not to move firewood, as it can be a host for a variety of pests.
