[MR] Regarding the Magnus Favor

   Magnus had not yet gotten arms passed. What he had submitted was returned
and he wasn't able to resubmit it. Heck, I've still got his original
submission in my files..We in Attillium painted those unpassable arms on two
shields... One, a usuable shield, to be carried into battle at Pennsic, the
other was burned at his funeral.
    The Magnus Shield was built by members of Attillium: Bledri and Gavin, I
believe.. It was taken to Pennsic that year and was carried into every
battle by a different warrior each time. Afterwards, the shield was signed
on the back by the proud bearer.  I know that Cuan and Kane as King and
Prince each carried it. HRM Cuan wanted to make the shield a part of the
kingdom regalia, but I don't think it ever was.The last person I know of who
had the shield was Bledri.
   The Magnus Sword was given to the Canton of Attillium by Wesley's
parents. It was engraved as such. I know that Robyan and Fern wanted it as
part of the Baronial Regalia, so that it could be kept and displayed as a
token of chivalry. I don't think that ever worked out, either. The last
person who had the sword that I'm aware of was Gavin.
   The belt favor came into being about the same time.. I thought that it
was to be carried by the bearer of the sword, but things get twisted a bit
over time.
    Magnus's lady and son are now living in Tennessee and are still very
active in the SCA. He was a good guy and well worth remembering. I'd like to
see the mementoes found and displayed for the kingdom once more.
