Greetings unto all fellow Atlantians from Baron Wulfstan Egweald. Sir Bryce
de Byrum brought up a question in regards to what has become a forgotten
legacy in this great Kingdom: the Magnus Favor. I thought you would like
to know the history behind it for those that do not know the story.

On Aug 6, 1993, Lord Magnus Baldwin, mka Wesley Cover was having dinner with
his pregnant fiancee at Luigi's, an Italian Restaurant in Fayetteville NC. A
shotgun-wielding gunman entered through the backdoor and began shooting.
After killing the two owners and another patron, the gunman, Kenneth Junior
French, pointed the shotgun at Lord Magnus' fiancee. Lord Magnus, in the
finest display of chivalry, placed himself between the gunman and his lady
just before he fired.
Lord Magnus was instantly killed, having taken the brunt of the blast. His
lady was seriously wounded, but was able to later give birth to a perfectly
healthy baby boy.
Lord magnus Baldwin was 26 years old when he died.

As I believe, and correct me if I'm wrong, his shield was the favor to be
carried on the field, although I'm uncertain under what circumstances. If
anyone can add to this, I'm sure it would enrich the Kingdom to remember one
of our own fallen. Thank you for your time.

In service to Atlantia and the Dream,
Baron Wulfstan Egweald
