Good Gentles,
I just found out that my forward didn't make it! So I'm including a copy
of Mistress Arianna's message here:

The Kingdom of Atlantia has long been known for its prowess on the
Pennsic battlefield. It is time for the Known World to become better
acquainted with the grace and beauty of Atlantia's talented vocal music
artistisans.

Greetings and well met! My name is Mistress Arianna Morgan (Chris
Stuermer) from the Barony of Lochmere. I am delighted to have the honor
of directing this year's Pennsic Choir. This is my first time directing
a large choir and I am very excited to have this opportunity to share my
love of period choral music with so many others.

The "theme" for this year's program is "Director's Choice." In
developing the program, I was focusing on several perspectives; that of
the audience, the choir, and the director. First and foremost,...I
wanted the program to be fun for everyone (which in my view is the whole
point of the exercise) To that end, I focused on factors such as
variety, complexity, length of the program...etc. The program is as
follows:

Cantate Domino (Hassler) SATB, Latin
This is the Day (Anon) SATB, English
Adoramus Te (Palestrina) SATB, Latin
Psalm 96 "Chantez a Dieu" (Sweelink) SATB, French
O Magnum Mysterium (Victoria), SATB, Latin
Musica, die ganz Lieblich Kunst (Jeep), SATB, German
Tu es Petrus (Palestrina), SSAATB, Latin

It is Thomas Morley's 550th birthday this year. Therefore, in order to
pay tribute to him a guest "Chamber Choir" will perform an "interlude"
of several of Morley's madrigals.

We need voices in all the sections (SSAATB). However, if past years are
any indication, we will be in particular need of baritones, basses, and
tenors. Please give the "ole director" a hand and recruit your friends,
neighbors, significant others, spouses, etc. *Anyone who can carry a
tune is welcome. Music reading skills are helpful...but not required.
*You will have the opportunity to sing with gentles from around the
Known World...and who knows? You may make a new friend or two.

For information please go to www.pennsicwar.org <http://www.pennsicwar.org/>

*/(click on A&S then click on Pennsic Choir). If you plan to sing,
please register on-line so I know how many people I have in each
section. The registration process is easy and quick./*

_Monthly Rehearsals_: For those of you who are in Northern Atlantia - -
I will be hosting monthly Pennsic Choir rehearsals at my house
(Directions at appear at the end of this missive). All rehearsals are on
Sundays from 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. on the following dates:

March 11th
April 22nd
May 6th
June 10th
July 8th

Please let me know if you plan to attend. Please bring a extra folding
chair, a pencil, and the music that you printed out from the Known World
Choir Yahoo Website.

_June University_:

Depending on the location, I may also direct a pick-up choir at June
University using some of the Pennsic Choir music. A separate
announcement will be forthcoming once the location has been confirmed.

_Multiple Postings_: I apologize to those of you who receive multiple
copies of this missive. I realize that many of you are on several SCA
lists. In order to avoid multiple postings on the same e-lists (Merry
Rose, Pearl, Laurel and Performer's Guild) I have asked specific people
to "do the posting.

I look forward to working with many of you at war. Your support is
appreciated.

Yours in Service,
Arianna M.
