The Canton of Azurmont is hosting the Feast of St. Pyr on St. Patrick's Day,
March 17, in Vinton, VA. We have a fabulous A&S class lineup scheduled,
including a full track of archery classes. Come and learn a new skill! Enter
one of our A&S competitions!
Track 1
10am: Duc de Berry's collections (Baroness Metylda the Cunning)
11am: Millinery (head coverings, Lady Anne Balfour)
1pm: Bamboo dip pens (Master Aldred Blackwood)
2 pm: Game of Go (Lord Bleidd Gwilt)
3pm: Egg tempera (Tangwystel vyrgh Gwethenek)
Track 2
10am: Introduction to combat archery (Lord Antonio di Capizzi)
11am: Target archery marshalling (Lord Allen of Wolfhou)
12noon: Target arrows matched to your bow (Master Mors) (2-hr class)
2pm: Cresting target arrows (Lady Esprensa)
3pm: Setting up a target archery shoot and making targets (Lord Allen of
Wolfou)
Track 3
10am: Zebra pies (Lord Tyson)
11am: Italian Renaissance cookery (Mistress Morgana de Mont St Michel)
1pm: Cordial making (Baroness Nastasiia Rosenzweig)
2pm: Mead making (Lord Tholen)
3pm: Hand applique (Lady Aneira Gwilt)
Registration for individual classes is not necessary. However,
preregistration for the event is strongly encouraged. Pre-reg is $5/$8
(non-member) before March 1, and $7/$10 (non-member) after March 1. Feast is
$3. Children (ages 6 and below) guests of the Canton. Make checks payable to
the Canton of Azurmont/SCA Inc. and mail to Lady Almas (c/o Johonna
Gamble), PO Box 19092, Roanoke, VA 24019 (phone 540-344-5879).
A&S competitions will include brewing, best alcohol-related item (drinking
steins, etc), and best depiction of a saint.
