Greetings to all!

Yesterday was a day to remember. There was sadness to see their Excellencies Barre and Cordelia step down and close a good chapter in baronial history. They left us with a strong and vibrant group. There was happiness as I began a new journey in my SCA life. I will work hard to continue their good works. I know I have learned from their fine example.

Vivats and congratulations to all our Bright Hillians that were honored over 3 courts! We will see the list of honorees shortly.

Many hands made for light work and I want to thank Lady Constanza for her good job as autocrat. Running a Royal Progress event is never easy but she was up to the task. The few issues that arose she took care of in good speed and in good grace.

I want to thank Baroness Rowen and the Bright Hills Cooks Guild for the wonderful Spanish Feast that was served. They are so good that as it appeared that the waiting list for feast space was growing Baroness Rowen and her staff graciously accommodated 2 more tables of gentles in addition to the original head count planned for. I am in total awe of their cooking talents and dedication to our enjoyment and their art.

I wish to thank his Majesty, King Ragnarr for travelling all the way from the southern regions of our kingdom to invest me as Baroness of Bright Hills. Even though the trek was long and tiring he was funny and gracious the whole day! He also pitched in and rolled up his sleeves to help with hall clean up so that the job could be done faster.

Thank you to all my cousins who came to welcome me to the Coronet fold! I look forward to visiting your groups and supporting you in anyway that I can. Your gifts are greatly appreciated and I will be sending out personal notes to you this week.

What can I say? Bright Hills once again showed why our events are fun and exciting and so enjoyable. You all are hard working and honestly generous with your time and efforts. You gave me a wonderful memory and I cherish you greatly.

Yours in service,
Martelle, Baroness of Bright Hills
