Greetings to the tavern,
 
Please disregard the information for Winter Tidings that appears in the
January Acorn. The correct information appears below and will be posted to
the kingdom website shortly:
 
Winter Tidings, February 23, 2008
 

As Old Man Winter blows his blustery greetings across fair Atlantia, we here
in Rivers Point have decided that a day of celebration is in order. We feel
that a day of revelry, dancing, feasting, and rapier fighting will give
everyone a chance to raise their spirits as we prepare for spring time. 

 

Martial Activities: Rapier fighting only and this will be inside. Fighting
will take place throughout the day and evening.

 

Arts and Sciences Activities: Isabel Henry will be coordinating an Arts and
Sciences display for all those who wish to share their works past, present,
and unfinished. Documentation is optional but encouraged. E-mail:

Brewing: For those who wish to share their spirits (with those of proper
age, of course), Isabel Henry will be coordinating a brewers' table as well.

Cost:      Adult, Member (13 and up)               $10.00

                Adult, Non-Member                            $13.00

                Children 12 and under are guests of the Canton.

                Family Cap: A family shall pay for no more than 4 adults.
(Non-members please add $3.) Please advise when sending in your
reservations.

 

Cost Note: Feast is included for PRE-REGISTERED ONLY. There will be NO feast
spots available at the door. A special child's feast will be prepared for
those pre-registered, as a courtesy. 

 

Site: Saint Joseph's Catholic Church - Quinn Hall, 115 West Washington
Street, Petersburg, VA 23803. Site opens at 11:30am and closes at 10pm. Site
is WET. Service animals only. Smoking outside only. Merchants welcome -
please notify the Autocrat before hand. There will be no children's
activities.

 

Feast: THL Sorcha Gaughran (Cynthia Cole) will be preparing 3 removes to
tempt the palate - so leave plenty of room!!!! Children's feast will be

>From the South: Take your best route to I-95 North. Take exit 50 B-C-D (Fort
Lee, Crater Road, Wythe/ Washington Streets) Take the "D" ramp towards Old
Towne Petersburg, Washington Street. Stay to the left and merge onto
Washington Street (US-301 N).  THIS STREET IS ONE WAY. ***

 

>From the South-West: Take your best route to 85 North towards Richmond,
Virginia. Take the Wythe/Washington exit #69. Bear to the left and onto W.
Washington Street (US-301 N)  THIS STREET IS ONE WAY.  ***

 

>From the North: Take your best route to I-95 South towards Petersburg. Take
exit #52 - WYTHE/WASHINGTON Streets. Stay to the right towards Washington
Street. THIS STREET IS ONE WAY. ***

 

*** Once on Washington Street travel approximately 0.4 miles and look for
the SCA signs. Quinn Hall is on the RIGHT, BEFORE the church. Parking is in
the rear of the building. If you pass St. Joseph's Catholic Church (also on
the right) you have gone too far.
