[MR] OT: Building "Atlantia" for a NWN Persistent World - "SCA the Dream"

Good Gentles of Atlantia,

I have a completely off topic request which will require you to reminisce
about the SCA and your friends for a few minutes. (I know, I know, it's
such a burden, lol). I would prefer to take comments off list, unless you
think everyone would enjoy reading what you have to say.

I play Never Winter Nights online*. My current "home" is a nice little
world with towns named after SCA groups. SCA the Dream already has the
Kingdoms of Trimaris and Aethelmearc and areas named for baronies and
cantons from the Middle and Drachenwald. (Most of the builders live in
Aethelmearc.) One of the lead builders started playing SCA in our Barony of
Marinus, so I asked him "Where's Marinus and the rest of Atlantia?"

"Build it," Daniel said. "Design Atlantia and I'll add it when I get the
chance." Several new areas are supposed to "go live" around Christmas, then
the schedule opens up. and I don't have Atlantia completed yet.

What do I need from you? I need NAMES. Names of people, places, or events
would help so much. When you think of legendary people in Atlantia, who
comes to mind? What groups have disappeared from our landscape? What event
do you wish was still held? What should be remembered about Atlantia and
her people?

One area that has already been sketched out is the Memorial Garden. Do you
have the SCA name for a friend that has passed on from this world? I would
love to have a marker with their name on it. As the world builder
"Ubersaint" said, "I'm all about memorializing those SCAdians that have
died. It's another way to honor their memory." Others might disagree, but
I think a certain Earl Kane would be highly amused that young fighters would
forever battle near his "resting place".

If you can suggest any dialog, that would be wonderful. What did that baron
always say? Even if it's not PG-13 (you know who you are), let me know. We
do try to keep the dialog clean enough that our children can play, but over
their heads is still over their heads. ;)

It would be nice if every NonPlayer Character (NPC) in Atlantia had a name.
"Citizen", "boy", "girl", and "guard" gets old after a bit. Buildings need
names, too. Each town has at a minimum an inn, tavern, pawn shop, craft
hall, and government hall. Roads, woods, swamps, and gardens surround those
towns.

*If you play NWN, by all means drop in and play. We would love to have you
stay and visit for a while. Last week I visited with a landed baron from
Lochac. Two of the DMs are a landed baron and baroness from Aethelmearc.

Thank you so very much,

Lady Gwendolyn Fitch

P.S. I have hesitated to ask before now because I don't want to upset or
insult anyone. If you REALLY would not like your name to be in this little
world, by all means let me know.
