Unto the people of Atlantia from your Prince and Princess.

As We travel to the lands of AEthelmarc to join our King and Queen in
lending support to Our Cousins of the Midrealm We are reminded of upcoming
turmoil that will certainly occur during Our time on the thrones of this
great kingdom.  We bid you all to join Us as We engage our northern host at
Kingdom Crusades in October.  The last few years have proven bleak for
Atlantia on the field and that is simply not acceptable.  We intend to meet
Our Cousins Andreas and Gabriella with the might of the Atlantian war
machine in full force.  For the duration of Our reign We have chosen peace
with the East and have entered into an alliance with them.  This will
include Gulf Wars in March and We look forward to all of Atlantia's warriors
and artisans coming to Our call of support.  

On another note please know that We are deeply saddened to learn that some
group's financial policies include provisions for charging Our guests at Our
high table.  This is simply rude and We find it unacceptable.  Profit should
never replace the mark of a good host.  As such We will not attend events
that have such a policy in place and urge any group with such a policy to
really sit down and examine their reasoning for it.  We would encourage you
all to reconsider such policies and to embrace the joys of being generous
hosts and allowing those invited guests to be treated as such.

If you will please pardon a 'lurker' from "down south" but has anyone
actually posted copy of the original paragraph of prose from the 
Acorn (I believe) concerning this issue?  I perhaps may have missed 
it but I am getting the implication that the Royals will not be 
attending (boycotting?) certain events if there is not a sliding 
scale of X amount of 'free' feasts for head table provided?  I have 
been playing in the SCA for almost 30 years on and off and this is 
the first time I have ever heard of something like this.  This one 
has got me confused but intrigued at the changes I have seen in the 
SCA over the decades...

Again please please accept my apologies for most probably 
misunderstanding the whole issue but it certainly DID raise an 
eyebrow from and aulde scadian feast/autocrat.  :)
