[MR] OT: My cat needs a new home (Raleigh, NC) :(

A month and a half ago, I asked around about a temporary home for my cat..due to circumstances, I am now forced to find her a new permanent home.

My cat, Sybil, has been with me for a year. She is about 2 years old, and is a purebred Bengal cat, a brown spotted tabby. She is leash-trained and knows several commands, including sit, stay, and a guessing game. Some of you may know her as the spotted leopard kitty that has been seen walking on her leash at events. If you do, you've seen that she is extremely well-behaved and very tolerant of many situations. She is a wonderful camper, too...she won't roam away from a tent, even a period tent such as mine is that isn't closed off 100%.

She has been living with other people since May. I have been all but homeless, living with friends here and there, looking for a job. I have found a job now, but because it is a live-in position where one of the family members is allergic to cats, I cannot keep my cat. It hurts me a lot to have to give her away...I had planned to train her as a therapy cat, and take her to nursing homes and hospitals...she is very good with people of all ages, and loves children. She is also very much all about the people, and will follow people around. She won't stay somewhere if there are people in another room..she has to be where the people are. If not for my circumstances, I would not even begin to think about giving her away.

There is no rehoming fee, but there will be a contract that will include NOT declawing her and agreeing to contact me if she leaves your care. She will come with her harness, food dishes, pet water fountain, carrier, a couple outfits including her coat (because she gets cold since she doesn't have an underlayer of fluff), toys, scratching post, scratching pad, and litter box and accessories. Basically, all the stuff she needs, minus food and the litter for the litter box (depending on how long it is, there is still some in the huge bag I got, and there's still litter to replace what's being used...so that might be there, too).

I'm not looking to give her away to someone who is far away, unless they are willing to come to Raleigh, and I will not ship her anywhere. I'm looking for someone local who wants to adopt an adorable and very well-behaved 'dog in a cat suit'.
If anyone is interested, e-mail me, and we'll talk more.
