[MR] High Table Guests

Greetings to the Populace.

I don't understand this demand for free meals...anything free is paid for by someone, and that someone is paying for it as a -gift-. Why would someone demand that local groups give a gift even if it hurts them to do it?

If you (in the general sense, not meaning anyone in particular) attend feast, you should pay for feast, except for Royals (Majesties and Highnesses), as they pay so much out of their own pockets beyond the Crown funds, the local Baronage (since they are putting so much time and effort into that group) and perhaps visiting landed baronage, if the local group so chooses (because that -is- optional). If the feastocrat is able to budget for extra people, that extra amount should be first and foremost to feed the people who work so hard for the event (autocrat, kitchen servers, troll, etc). 

If it is so important that High Table guests not have to pay, then I'm sorry, maybe the people inviting them should pay their feast. I know I'm going to get slammed for saying such, but you eat, you pay. You invite six people, you pay for six people and yourself. The Royals may have a lot of expenses to deal with, but I just don't agree with the local groups having to pay for High Table guests on top of all the other expenses -they- have. Kingdom events are paid for by local guests, but a percentage goes to the crown...maybe that percentage should go towards High Table guests.

You can slam me all you want, but that's my opinion. You eat, you pay. You go to an event, you pay. No one should demand anything free.
