This year was the first time I'd ever had to go to the Point for a medical
issue. (The "leaking Sharpie incident" from a few years ago doesn't
count.) From my limited perspective I can report that everything went
smoothly. The EMS crew quickly ascertained that I needed to see one of the
MD's on duty, though it wasn't a time-critical thing. So while I waited
for one of the doctors to be available, the Chirurgeon in Charge came over
and asked some Pennsic-specific questions. We concluded that I'd caught
the cold that was going around at Land Grab, which the dusty conditions of
the first week had aggravated, but that it was definitely something for
the EMS team to deal with. At that point the doctor came over, who soon
diagnosed me with a secondary infection (sinusitis/bronchitis) and sent me
off with a perscription for antibiotics.
So at least in my case, I can say that everything went well. It seems that
they may have come up with an SOP that works nicely.

not a chirurgeon, but knows a lot of them
(also grateful for everything the chirurgeons and EMS do at Pennsic)
