Hrothgar, I really don't understand the logic behind this statement. If
you're planning to feed 100 people, whether you've budgeted for 100
people or 85 people doesn't affect your ability to be a head cook.
In other words, if it costs $850 to feed 100 people (I'm going for
simple math here), then your ability to feed those 100 people isn't
affected by whether you asked 85 people to pay $10 each, or if you asked
100 people to pay $8.50 each.
You're still asking the 85 who have paid to subsidize the cost of the
meal for the 15 who haven't. You don't get those 15 extra people for
nothing (at least not while the laws of physics and mass conservation
still work! :-)
