[MR] Pennsic Theft

Yeesh it sounds like a theft I prevented at an Estrella War one year... A couple of "gentles" who were later identified as a couple of Dread Lords known for "stealing" things from unguarded camps and "ransoming" them off later. They asked me if they could rummage around the camp I was staying with and take a couple things.. I told them that I would be most saddened if they did because my brother and his household trusted me to watch over their things and instead of "aquiring" a few "loose items" to come share my fire and a drink for a bit. They did and happily tottled off a few minutes before my bro and some of his household meandered back... :)

One thing I have learned at Wars.. always have someone on watch at the campsite... two are better... Folks in the SCA are supposed to be above such things.. but there are always exceptions to the rules..

Greetings to the list and welcome back from war to those who attended . . .

Below I've pasted a message put out on several lists by a lady I know and
trust. If anyone has any information or sees anything like the item stolen,
please contact Drueta.

Greetings,

Please excuse the bandwidth and please forward as you see appropriate.

The Barony of Ironbog was the victim of a theft on Thursday night at Pennsic
I wish this was a joke but it isn't. Someone or ones came into our camp and
took a couple of senseless things, a camp chair and a pair of pants, but
also stolen was something we hold much more dear...... Our Baronial camp
sign.

The camp sign was approx 24" by 36" cutwork steel with our arms and name. It
weighted about 30lbs. This was not a prank done by kids. They had to have
traversed our entire camp to take what was stolen.

The pants and the chair can be replaced. What we would really like is our
sign returned, no questions asked.

If you see it or know where it is, please, please, please contact myself our
our Baron, Master Lawrence Thornguard or Baroness, Mistress Katherine Barr
of Cumberland.

Thank you for your patience and understanding,

Lady Drueta de la Rosa

Ironbog Seneschal
