Christopher James "Jamie" Bishop, the Virginia Tech German instructor killed last week was a member of the Barony of Bryn Madoc (Athens, Georgia) while he studied at the University of Georgia in the late 80s and early 90s.  Baronial old-timers remember him as "a man of exceptional grace" and "a fun guy."  Jamie is the son of science fiction and fantasy author Michael Bishop. I'm sorry I never got to meet him.
