For those minded of the gentler arts, there will be a number of competitions
available for entry and perusal at Coronation this weekend, to wit:
1. Best Roman or Byzantine clothing and accessory
2. Best use of a Medusa or Gorgon
3. Best Roman or Byzantine food item
4. A Poetry competition - In Praise of the Empire, sponsored by Lord
Dunstan, Poeta Atlantia
5. A Scroll Blank competition, sponsored by Lady Livia Zanna, Royal
Scrivener
Along with the competitions above, the following categories will be awarded
in Tempore Atlantia (highlighted time period is 1000-1250 a.d.)
1. Best in Show, sponsored by Master Eadric the Potter
2. Best Display, sponsored by Maestra Jessamyn di Piemonte
3. Best Knitted, Woven or Handspun Item, sponsored by Freiherrin Susanna

4. Best Short Form Documentation, sponsored by Lady Kateryn Rous
5. Best Archery Related Item, sponsored by Baron Charles O'Connor and Lord
Siegfried Sebastian Faust.
A&S check in begins at 9am on Saturday. Displays should be picked up by 4pm
on Saturday to allow time for feast set up.
The classes offered are as follows:
12pm-1pm Early Byzantine Clothing, Ornamentation & Accessories, by Lady
Megan Elphinstone
2pm-4pm Applied Laziness as a Guiding Principal: 3/1 Broken Twill Tablet
Weaving, by Master Herveus d'Ormonde
4pm-5pm Imperial Roman Clothing, by Lady Iohanna filia Iacobi
2pm-3pm Planning a Feast Around a Basic Field Kitchen, by Lady Briana
Morgan of the Valley
The Field Kitchen class will take place in the A&S hall. All other classes
will take place in the A&S classroom located just across the quad.
