Congratulations on being a fastidious parent.  Punish away.

I wouldn't let this public embarrassment in our Society cause you to 
temper your parental decision one way or the other(showing his butt on 
your playground is only as bad as showing his butt on any playground). 
14yo young adults do stupid, stupid stuff.  That's why they can't sign 
contracts, drink, marry, etc. and also why we see them buried way too 
often.  14yo young adults learn very quickly, as well, especially with 
firm parenting and lots of love(and maybe our knees calloused from prayer).

Now that we know this was a youngster with learning to learn, we can 
stop talking about it and focus on trying to set good examples for 14yo 
young adults, give or take a few years.
