I, Mikhail Novgorodets, of the Lochmere Yeast-Monger's Guild, am pleased 
to announce:

For your Drinking Pleasure, at Lochmere's Baronial Birthday---A Beer 
Tasting.
 
What it *IS*:
-         A *TASTING* (rather like a wine tasting) for those 21 or over
-         A social, of sorts
-         A chance to learn about beer and brewing
-         An opportunity for brewers to compare notes
-         A lot of fun
 
What it is *NOT*:
-         A brewing competition
-         A drinking competition
-         A "swill-off"
-         Outside, in the hot, hot sun (or rain, as the case may be) on 
the list-field.
 
The tasting will occur between the hours of 2pm and 4pm in the feast-hall.
 
Please bring something to share!
 
As we tend to brew them this time of year, in anticipation of their 
warmth during the cold
winter months, I hope to focus on darker beers, to include Brown Ales, 
Porters, Bocks,
Dunkels, Stouts, Schwarzbiers and Barleywines.
 
However, *any* brews are welcome, be they beer, mead, wine, documented, 
modern,
homebrewed, or commercial.
 
Brewers, if you wish to submit a homebrew for tasting, there are two 
requirements:
1)      Please provide a recipe or ingredient list
2)      Please provide at least 3 twelve-ounce bottles (or the equivalent)
 
Non-brewers, or brewers without an available batch:  You're more than 
welcome to bring
something commercial to share; again, please bring at least 3 
twelve-ounce bottles or the equivalent.
 
Whatever you intend to bring, please let me know what you're bringing, 
or ask for guidance,
in order that we don't end up with seven cases of Guinness (this is a 
*tasting*, not a *drinking*). 
I'd much prefer a wider variety.
