[MR] Update to A&S competitions AND CLASSES at Siege of Glengarry

Please note that there are classes (to include a discussion of Combat
Archery) at Siege on 23 September 2006, in addition to the competitions.
(Also note that the newly crowned King and Queen of Aethelmearc will
grace us with their presence.)

COMPETITIONS: Please turn in all entries in the A&S Hall by 11:00.
Judging will be completed by 3:00 pm. THEME: Myths and Legends
BARDIC COMPETITIONS: Short story/poem based on Myths/Legends. To be
judge by Lady Alessandra de Venizia.
BREWING: Sponsored by Lord Siegfried Sebastian Faust. Judging will begin
at 2:00. Entrants are encouraged to be present during judging.
CHILDREN'S COMPETITION: Lady Elena di Salaparuta is the sponsor.
Children can submit anything created under this theme.
FIBER ARTS: Embroidery. Any embroidery with a theme of myth or legend.
Sponsored by Lady Martelle von Charlottenburg.
WOOD/LEATHER: Carving/embossing. Theme of myths and legends. Lord Ed the
Tinker will judge.

10 am(A&S Hall) Introduction to Chain Maille by Laird Grimolfr

11 am (A&S Hall) Beginning Calligraphy/Scrolls for Vikings by Hrefna in
heppna Title: Scrolls for Vikings Duration: 1 hour Fees and limits:
none
Description: The Old Norse left no illumination and few written
chronicles. So what do you do for a "Viking" scroll if carving stone
isn't you deal? Come learn the options for commemorating SCA award for
Norse personae.
2 pm (A&S Hall) Viking beaded necklaces by Lady Elena di Salaparuta.
(Hands-on) Class in making a woman's Viking necklace. The kit includes
beads, pendants, clasp, and waxed linen thread. Please bring any special
beads or pendants (site tokens etc.) that you would like to add to the
necklace. Additional lampworked beads will be for sale at clearance
prices. Limit of 6 - 8. (Class fee $5)
2 pm (A&S Hall) Lord Ed the Tinker will be teaching/demonstrating wood
block printing.
3 pm (A&S Hall) Felting for Children Mistress Lia Padua; Felting with
Merino wool.
3 pm(A&S Hall) Temari Lady Elizabeth Conney Temari is Japanese
embriodery on a thread wrapped ball. Instructor will provide wrapped and
marked mari. Ages 12 and up.
4 pm (or after fighting ends) (Battlefield) Arbalest class by Lady
Irina Astrachovna: Class and practice firing only.
After Feast (Feast Hall) Combat Archery Techniques by Lord Morien
McBain: A discussion of combat archery techniques.
