[MR] A suggestion re: surprise elevations

I am really interested in reactions to this idea which I think got lost in
my last e-mail regarding surprise elevations.  Granted if the idea was
carried out the problem would be getting past the perception that if
someone posted a "wish list" to their elevation people would think they
were expecting to get said award sooner rather than later if ever.



Here is a thought, since it's impossible for the crowns to know for
every subject their desires on vigils, the e-mails addresses of a few
people who should be alerted in case of major awards and even if they
desire it to be a surprise or not, could we set up a page in our lovely
new database?  Anyone who wants could then list their desires and have the
knowlege available to the people need to know.

For those of you who are wondering what database I'm refering to, if you
sign in to the University web page it will tell you what classes you've
taken/taught and what awards you have - that is if the system is
updated.
