Good Gentles All,
Since I'm the one who opened this issue, I would like to make one
correction/explanation/modification of/to what I said. It seems that
the debate has centered on the concpt of surprise or no surprise. That
wasn't really what I was talking about. In fact, the Writ system I
propose would actually could still be a surprise...the candidate would
be very surprised to be called before the Thrones and presented with a
requirement from the Crowns that they present themselves at a time
mutually agreeable to both, to sit Vigil and be elevated to the Order of
the Kumquat. This would accomplish two ends: it would retain the
element of surprise, while still allowing the candidate to participate
in the planning of their "day"...and it would lessen the possibility of
a "leak" before it actually happens. Of course, the mentor and Order
Principal should still be told ahead of time...if nothing else, to make
sure the candidate is present! But no one else need know ahead of
time...lessening the possibility of spoiling the surprise.

Hope this clears things up a bit...

Kiri
