Sorry, accidently sent this privately first...

I fall on both sides of this issue.  If no one had told me that Dame
Roxanne was being elevated there would have been no bobbin lace cake
even though she'd mentioned to me SEVERAL times she wanted a cake for
her vigil.  At the time we were just friends.  I was just lucky that she
mentioned to her Laurel so I was told.

I've made it clear to my Laurel my wishes should I ever be so
acknowledged - I'd like to be told at one event and have the actual
elevation at another event, simply because there are 4 people from out
of Kingdom that I'd want there 3 of whom don't play.

When Meisterin Johanna was on vigil I didn't find out until Court.
Since she's a friend as well as having been my Baroness, I would have
loved to have taken part in her vigil, even if only to provide some of
the
sekanjabin she likes or stop by to wish her well.

On the other hand my best friend wants such things to remain a surprise.
 For me that means if something ever happens I need to make sure the
right people know, if I find out, without letting her know.

Here is a thought, since it's impossible for the crowns to know for
every subject their desires on vigils, who should be let know in case of
major awards and even if they desire it to be a surprise or not, could
we set up a page in our lovely new database?  Anyone who wants could
then list their desires and have the knowlege available to the people
need to know.

For those of you who are wondering what database I'm refering to, if you
sign in to the University web page it will tell you what classes you've
taken/taught and what awards you have - that is if the system is
updated.
