[MR] Dogs at events

I would like to add to discussion some observations.
Unfortunately I saw at one event my barony ran this year: Owners who let their dogs overheat by not checking them close enough, fail to truly have control over them (including snapping at people and other dogs), walk away from their camp and leave their dogs unattended for hours at time, or failed to curb or clean up after their dogs (including at the troll booth).
It was bad enough that the barony may ban dogs from events. If we do allow dogs again, there will be a strict policy posted so everyone knows what is expected and required in order not to repeat the problems we had last year.
That said, I feel some people fail to realize that an event, especially a weekend camping one, can be stressful on an animal. To the point where they may start behaving differently than they normally would.
Everyone who is thinking about bringing their dog should take time review how their animal may act under conditions where:
It could be hot or other adverse weather conditions exist,
having a lot of people, especially children, and other animals around your dog,
and no real "retreat" space (where an animal feels safe) for the dog at the event.
If there is any possibility the animal might have a problem, leave them at home. It is best for them, you, and others attending the event.
