[MR] new elbow armour rule petition

there are some rule changes that are to take effect in january of 2007 that
effect heavy fighters on the field.  many fighters object to a couple of
these changes.  we do not believe that our voices will be heard but are
resolve in our desire to at least attempt to effect change.  in an effort to
do this i have created an electronic petition urging the current sem to
allow us to continue in our proven safe practices and not institute further
restrictions that are clearly not based on anything of merit but rather
cultural differences and faulty opinion.  this petition involves the
redundant measure of requiring elbow armour behind shields.  i will be
producing an additional electronic petition to urge the sem to rescind
another new rule which requires padding under aventails.  that petition will
be published soon.

 

the purpose of these petitions is to see if there is enough support to go to
the next step and produce actual paper petitions.  it is my belief that an
electronic one will simply be discounted as non-secure.  i hope that a paper
one will not be so easily discounted.  should there be enough support for
the paper petitions we will move forward with creating them and circulating
them.  they will simply ask the current sem to allow the many kingdoms and
the thousands of fighters that have been practicing certain, proven, safe
armouring practices to continue to do so as they have for decades.
