Yes, it does conflict.  

It looks almost identical and effectively sounds identical so it is probably
too close for him to even give you permission to conflict if you requested
it.

Hi, This is a question for the heralds :

 I was recently informed by someone that my name may be in conflict with
someone else's.  I realized then that I never registered my SCA name. I was
told to go to the SCA armorial to look up the name and see if it is there...

Now the name I'm currently using is Donal Maclauren. I did a search on that
name and came up with no matches.

I then did a search on all names starting with Donal and I came up with a
Donal MacLaren who registered his name in Trimaris in 1993. Does this name
conflict with mine ? I know Maclauren is an alternate spelling of Maclaren
but can I still use it or is it time to find a new name?
