And wouldn't give out a single refund. Refunds are only given out if asked
for in a timely fashion. The day of the event doesn't count. If you don't
ask for a refund until the day or the event, or after the event, you will
only get a refund if the event made money. My rule was always, if I sold
out feast anyway, I would send a refund, otherwise I wouldn't in that case.
Now if they let me know in advance, I would send a refund.

I have found there are two types of people who don't send in reservations
for events they Know they are going to go to. One, they are on a very tight
budget and can't send it in advance. Or two, they are just too damn
lazy/busy/forgetful to do so. I have been both many times over my SCA
career and only the first one is very valid. If it is the latter case then
you are being discourteous by not sending in a reservation IMHO.

It is basically RSVPing with a check. That is the courteous thing to do,
and I thought that was one of the attributes we value.

As an autocrat I have had events when I got like 30 reservations with 5 days
to go and 200 show up to the event. Now what autocrat needs that kind of
stress! (GRIN)

I have seen events cancelled due to the lack of reservations.

All this could be prevented if someone would just take a little extra time
to send in a pre-reg.

Now like I said earlier, I have been just as guilty at not sending in
reservations in the past, but am I trying to be better. (-:

Oh, and for the person who says the Baronage & the Royals don't check the
reservations. I hate to tell you, but I have done it many a time. I have
even had the reservations send me the list!
