[MR] OT - Is the SCA a counter-cultural movement?

While I would agree with you that the SCA's values are not counter to modern society, I'd have to disagree with your statement that we're "only borrowing the dress and pageantry" from medieval days.  From my observations SCAdians as a group display those values more than a large percentage of the other inhabitants of modern life.  Therefore SCAdians would make a variant subset of modern society, but again, not a counter-cultural one.
