The Richmond rush hour is a *CAKE WALK* compared to any real rush hour
traffic. We have only one bottleneck, and it's usually only a problem
if someone screws up and wrecks a car (The I-95/I-64/I-195 split,
referred to as "Bryant Park" by the local Traffic Reports).
One piece of advice for those coming from the North. About 5 miles
north of the City is a split for I-295 (it's a left hand exit if
you're on 95 south). It takes you around the city, on a roadway that
is very sparsely used, and joins you back in just south of Petersburg.
I highly suggest it if you're coming through between 4:30 and 6.
It's about 10 miles longer, but experience has shown it can be 30
minutes faster, *if* someone has screwed up and wrecked a car in
Bryant Park.
Also note, the Richmond I-95 corridor is now a "Highway Safety Zone",
cops are reasonably vigilant, and fines are doubled. Another reason
to consider 295, if you posess a foot of lead.
