Only if you are taking time off work from your mundane job. It
literally can take 4 hours to drive after work what's a 1 1/2 hour
drive in the wee hours. Most people don't get off work until 4-6pm -
and a 9 hour drive puts them arriving somewhere around 2 in the
morning... to sleep for 4-5 hours and then go be productive at
meetings.
Even if you left prior to the DC area rush hour leaving work a few
hours early (say 1-3pm) you'll still be hitting the Richmond rush
hour. Having been caught in that one inadvertently... I will say that
it's as bad as the DC rush hour.
