As a former great officer I can say I liked having everyone (or as many
people as possible) together at once.  If you planned 2 different
Unvents would they be held the same weekend just at 2 different
locations?  If you held them the same weekend there could potentially be
a lot of good things discussed at one location that never get discussed
at the other.  You'd run into the same issue if you held them 2 separate
weekends - the group who met second would have the advantage of knowing
what the first group spoke about.  I guess if you held them the same
time then you could video conference the 2 meetings but there are plenty
of logistical issues with that.

There are many great officers who do not have regional deputies so there
really wouldn't be anyone else to run a 2nd meeting.  I do agree that
the more people we can get to attend, the better but nothing is perfect.
There are local officers who attend Unevent but may miss a certain
meeting because it conflicts with another meeting.  We just have to do
the best we can.  I think it would be great to keep Unevent at a more
centrally located part of the Kingdom but if no groups from southern
VA/northern NC put in a bid then we have to go with the next best
option.

But couldn't one of the regional deputies take over for the "other"
Unevent?  And the added benifit would be that in general there would be
more of each office/marshallete attend one of the two if it were closer
to home.  When Unevent is more northern you end up seeing all of the
northern folks, and very few from the southern end of the kingdom, and
the reverse is true when it is further south.  The deputy could talk
about anything the Officer has to put out, and take notes on any
discussions that happen to give the Officer feedback.

If the intent is to "get the information out and discuss it" wouldn't it
make sense to get more in attendance?  Ok, it obviously is to late for
this year, but could be considered for next year...
