Try I-25 between Austin TX and Denver, CO. This was obviously built just to spend some state money, or maybe because the Texas state flower is the traffic cone.
You go from hot, humid city to hot, dry, rocky-near desert to hot, flat, desert to cold, dry mountains.
Not foot hills like we have here. Real mountains where even the grass has given up. It's you, the highway and maybe a goat now and then. It's boring until you get to the mountains, then it's only boring if you have a death wish.
Entertainment during the boring parts? Try doing the lotus postition with the cruise control on at 75 miles/hr. It'll keep the truckers amused.
