Good day to the fair populace of Atlantia,

In just over a month is The King's Assessment on June 16-18. Allow me to
tell you the latest info about the event, especially non-fighting
related information.

http://filebox.vt.edu/users/lgantner/Assessment.html - official webpage
with general info and details.

Arts and Science Activities: This year's A&S competition is for period
encampments, so if you're wondering how your camp will look like or
stack up against other camps at Pennsic, be sure to bring it.

Classes: Central topic is "Get ready for Pennsic". Will you attend
Pennsic for the first time this year? Did you always have questions
about Pennsic? Do you want to learn and prepare for this year's Pennsic?
Everything and Anything you have to know for Pennsic will be taught
right here so be ready ... at least there will be lots of helpful people
ready to answer your questions. Confirmed classes include:

Chirurgeon's Apprentice class

Archery and Thrown Weapons Marshal class

Basic Scribal class

A weaving class

Basic clothing

Brewing 101

The Night Music of Pennsic-Middle Eastern Drumming other than Beledi

Youth Combat

If there is a special class you would like to see or even better if you
would like to teach a class that will help and prepare people for
Pennsic, please let me know. Also as a special note Apprentice
Chirurgeon's are welcome to attend and can apprentice at the event.

Children's Corner: The theme for the children's corner will be a "Pirate
for the day." Children will have activities such as Pirate Ship Bean Bag
Toss Game, Build your own Treasure Chest, Create a Crown, etc.

Curia: On Sunday morning of the event the Curia will be held.

Feast: I am happy to announce that Cerwynne ap Fhearghris
(spyndragon at AOL.COM) will be in charge of feast this year. He is the one
that prepared an absolutely stunning feast at last year's Assessment.
The feast this year will be peasant style, meaning simple, designed
especially for fighters after a long hard day of doing what they do
best.

Also if you know that you are coming to the event, please take a minute
and pre-register. This will give us a good estimate on how many people
will come and plan accordingly. Feast which is expected to sell out soon
and the availability of water are the top priorities here.

In service,

Ludwig
