Martial Activities

Target Archery. Many shoots will be available, including an
opportunity to directly battle your opponents as the Vikings would
have (with Balloon Stand-ins for yourself of course)! Range will be
open from 10am until 1 hour before court with a break for lunch.
Competitions will be run when critical mass is reached.

Sea battle. Longship shapes are outlined in a tangle on the field.
Fighting is restricted to the longships and any boarding planks that
fighters lay down so as to cross over. Anyone who falls off of the
longship "swims" to shore and then rejoins the fighting. Shore is the
resurrection zone. 15 min. per combat, winner is by most ships
controlled at end of combat. Combat archery allowed.

Viking Chieftain battle. Each side starts with a warlord chieftain.
When the chieftain is killed he/she must make a new chieftain by
putting a headband on the new chief. No resurrection for that side
untill a new chief is made. The winning side is the side that has had
the LEAST chiefs. 20 mins with combat archery allowed.

Viking great hall siege. A Viking great hall will be outlined with
haybales. A small team (6) defends the hall while all other fighters
attack. Attackers get resurrection, defenders do not. Each team will
get a turn defending. The team that defends the longest wins. Hall is
taken when no defenders remain alive within.

Viking era bearpit. Three bearpits will be run. Two of those shall be
normal, one will be restricted to weapons used before 1066AD round
shields and kites, no heaters. Longswords axes and boarspears, no
madus, polearms or greatswords. Each combatant gets a point for
fighting and then an additional point for winning. Most points wins
bearpit. 1 hour

If fighters still want to fight then we will have a team bearpit.
Teams of 6. 1 hour
