[MR] Hawkwood Baronial Birthday Feast Menu

Greetings unto Their Majesties, the (future) Highnesses, all Excellencies, 
Graces, and Populace of the Realm:

I most humbly invite all to join the Barony of Hawkwood in celebration Her 
Birthday on May 21st and to join us for a near-mid-summer feast.  If you 
have not yet made a reservation, my suggestion is you contact Lady Avalina 
of the Woods ASAP (she's the reservationist) at 828-225-8968. This is an 
offering of a variety of authentic recipes ranging from the 13th to the 16th 
century--come to the feast if you want to get the skinny on the recipes. The 
Menu (giving or taking cook's perogative) is as follows:

Repast 1:  Fruit, baked bread, curd-cakes, cold roasted herbed chicken with 
garlic and grape sauce, cold strawberry tarts.

Did I mention making a reservation?

Repast 2:  Onion soup with cheese, hard bread, pickled cucumbers, tartes of 
fleshe, and coddlin pie

Repast 3:  Three soft and hard cheeses/spreads, cherry pottage, rosemary 
bread, herbed tart, pescodde, either savory beef or pork (being a frugal 
cook it depends on the cost at the time of the feast), almond tosca cakes 
and turkish coffee.

Following the feast there will be revelry at the Bardic Circle. And very 
probably some type of drunken Highland bocce.

Oh yeah, and don't forget to get a reservation made. Seats and food will be 
limited to paying feasters!

There will also be almond water, sweet iced tea, lemonade and water. This is 
a wet site but it is BYO as we will NOT be serving anything that is a 
fermented drink as part of feast.

For those who are new to feasts, bring your own feast gear, including soup 
bowl. :-) And um, don't forget to make a reservation.  Remember, our theme 
is the knightly virtues. But I don't know that using a napkin was a 
requirement to be virtuous. Others more scholarly may wish to investigate 
this. :-)
